Audition Video Guidelines

If you cannot attend an in-person audition during our audition tour, we invite you to apply by video. This includes both international and US-based dancers. See below for detailed guidelines on creating your audition video.

The deadline to submit a video application is March 15, 2025.

General Guidelines

A classwork audition video should be approximately 7-10 minutes in length and portray the dancer in practice clothes* in an abbreviated class with the barre and center exercises included below. Pointe work is required for dancers who are applying for Professional Track and Company positions.

After the classwork video, please include a short 1-2 minute classical variation and an excerpt of contemporary work in studio or performance.

Barre Exercises

Please film barre work from a side (slightly front) angle. Position the camera as close as possible, but ensure that your entire body is fully visible from head to toe for both barre and center work.

All should be simple combinations.

  • Two demi-pliés and one grand plié in first, second, fourth and fifth positions (one side)

  • Tendu

  • Rond de Jambe (à terre & en l’air)

  • Frappé

  • Développé

  • Grand Battement

Center Exercises

For all ages unless otherwise noted. (Where applicable, please include combinations that demonstrate both sides).
Note: for Professional Track and Company positions, exercises should be completed en pointe.

  • Battement Tendu

  • Adagio

  • Pirouettes

  • Petit Allegro

  • Grande Allegro

  • Men’s Program Applicants: Single or double tour en l’air and Entrechat six
