Amara Galloway
Fairfax, VA
Amara Galloway received her formal ballet training from BalletNova Center for Dance before joining the Joffrey Ballet Chicago Trainee Program and Ballet Arizona’s Studio Company. Since joining State Street Ballet in 2017, Amara has performed leading roles in ballets including The Nutcracker and Cinderella, as well as originating the title role of The Little Mermaid. She has performed numerous contemporary roles in the company’s repertoire and, in 2021, was the Dance Captain for the Santa Barbara performances of the Broadway musical, Kismet. Amara has had the opportunity to perform choreography by George Balanchine, Gerald Arpino, Sir Frederick Ashton, and Jeffrey Cirio, and was a Semi-Finalist at The Youth America Grand Prix Competition. She has enjoyed many opportunities to tour nationally and internationally, including performances in Japan and as a guest artist in the United Kingdom.
