In a compelling season-closing performance, State Street Ballet and the Santa Barbara Symphony join forces once more for an exciting triple bill. The program features a performance of Brahms Symphony No. 3 by the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra, a world premiere by Nilas Martins and Megan Philipp set to Samuel Barber’s String Quartet No. 1 in B Minor. Then we conclude with Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, a bold, theatrical ballet of rivalry and desire, choreographed by George Balanchine and set to Richard Rodgers’ jazzy score.
