Eben Drost | Accompanist
Eben Drost is a professional musician with extensive experience in classical, jazz, pop, and rock music. Originally from Redlands, California, he moved to Santa Barbara to attend Westmont College, where he earned a BA in Music with departmental honors. He has also studied theology and the arts at Fuller Seminary and the Robert E. Webber Institute for Worship Studies. He directed chapel music for seven years at Westmont College, where he also has taught jazz, music theory, and worship studies. He now also accompanies a choir at Santa Barbara City College.
His musical resume includes playing keyboard for 11,000 people in an NFL football stadium, playing in various jazz combos ("Eben Flow" was his high school group), leading gospel choirs, playing electric guitar in a punk band, performing for theater productions, and composing Podcast theme music. What he loves about playing for ballet is the opportunity to use his skills as an improviser, see how the music can help energize movement, and be inspired by the incredible skill and dedication of the dancers.
