State Street Ballet’s Evenings was developed to give the dancers a forum to explore their own unique voices within the dance world, giving them an opportunity to express their visions in a comfortable, collaborative and intimate setting. The performances take place at the Gail Towbes Center for Dance, the company’s rehearsal studios, allowing audiences the rare experience to view the dances up-close and personally, while learning about the creative process. The dancer-choreographers are encouraged to experiment with different movement styles, thematic structures, and music choices, and to use the studio space creatively. The results are always exciting and inspiring, and audiences have come to expect the unexpected.
