Fenna Roukema | Executive Assistant

Fenna Roukema combines administrative expertise, academic achievement, and creative leadership in her work. She trained in ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz at State Street Ballet Academy (formerly Gustafson Dance) for 16 years, and joined Santa Barbara City College’s Modern Dance Company in 2018. She holds dual Associate Degrees in Dance and Kinesiology from SBCC and a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Developmental Biology from UC Santa Barbara.

Her choreographic works have received recognition at regional and national festivals, including FOAM (2022), honored at the Red Rock Dance Festival in 2023; Chronophobia (2023), a Gala selection at ACDA Baja 2024 and Audience Choice Award winner at Red Rock 2024; and Eliminate (2024), selected for the Gala at Red Rock 2025.

Since 2022, Fenna has been part of the State Street Ballet Academy faculty, teaching contemporary and jazz and supporting program development. In 2024, she joined State Street Ballet’s administrative team and has since transitioned into a full-time role while continuing to teach at the Academy and perform with the SBCC Dance Company. Her broad experience across dance, education, science, choreography, and administration reflects her ability to manage projects, support leadership, and adapt in dynamic environments.
