Melanie Trent De Schutter

Melanie’s vision for State Street Ballet is to help shepherd the artistic growth of costume and three-dimensional set design into the ballet’s fourth decade. With a strong background in the arts, fashion and photography, she believes her education links both aesthetics of costume and set design seamlessly. Support for the dancers, costume and set designers enhances the audience experience, creating an emotional connection to the performance on stage. She is a member of The Pollak Society at Virginia Commonwealth University (her alma mater!), which supports the VCU School of the Arts.  As a benefactor, it’s a wonderful platform that provides meaningful support for all the undergraduate art students.
